n 1992 just out of high school, Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage,AK. Bossard started her profession as a commercial fish worker in 1999. She began to work with the ship F/V Sunset a 65' halibut-schooner and was later converted into a tender for salmon in the name of Murat Aritan, who worked in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard is currently is married to Aritan and they have come together to prove their rights to the industry. Both are in favor of conserving resources and optimizing the profits. Otolith was established by Philadelphia through Bella Bossard, now the mother of two children with ages of 3 and 1 Bossard. In 2007, Bossard, mother to two kids Bella aged 3 and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her native Canada, launched Otolith as a wholesale direct market seafood distributor. Bossard along with her son Andre and Isabella, her daughter Isabella are scheduled to return home to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands for the wild salmon harvest. Hooks and lines are employed to capture their salmon after which they join Aritan to market their products to local processors for 2 months. After that, they grow their direct seafood market through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard was hired as anchor for News 12/MMJ and News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn on November 15, 2015. She is passionate about highlighting the positive things that happen in the boroughs that she represents, and to tell stories that make an impact.
